Chlorophytum borivilianumFailed to sell the green Musli plants as planting material the farmers have sown Safed Musli this year also in large areas. Many farmers tried to sell dried Musli in neighboring states but got poor prices. Very few new farmers are entering in this field.
Cymbopogon citratusAlthough marketing network is still a problem but new farmers are coming in this field and the area under Lemon Grass is increasing. The spread is higher in new areas whereas in old areas farmers are not increasing its area.
Abelmoschus moschatusSeeing the present demand of this herb many new farmers have started its commercial cultivation but area is very limited.
Gloriosa superbaPresent demand of Gloriosa motivated the traders to search it with farmers and in forest. Now many traders are encouraging farmers to raise it . But its area is still low. Many farmers are growing it for Nursery purpose.
Stevia rebaudianaSrevia is in planting material business phase. Stevia growers are luring new farmers in the name of subsidies given by state and central authorities. Commercial cultivation of Stevia is still limited to few areas. High cost of planting material is one of the big constraints specially for medium and poor farmers.
Mucuna pruriensVery few farmers have grown it. They are using the fence for its cultivation.
Cissus quadrangularisAlthough there is regular demand of this herb but farmers are not growing it at commercial level. It is still a garden plant.
Coleus barbatusThe area under Coleus has increased.
Acorus calamusLast year there were many trade inquiries about this herb but still its area is decreasing in the state.
Adhatoda vasicaVery few farmers have grown it.
Jatropha curcasState authorities are planting this herb as bio-diesel crop. Farmers have planted it as fence crop but they are hesitating in its large-scale plantation.
Aloe veraThe area under this multi-useful crop is increasing.
Curculigo orchioidesVery few farmers have grown it.
Costus speciosusIts cultivation is limited to very small area.
Hedychium coronariumThe area under this new crop is increasing slowly but steadily.
